I have this tree in a pot in my house that used to be in a planter I got when my legs were operated on when I was eight. Her name is Lucy--after the C. S. Lewis character--and Mom says we may have to leave her behind when we move b/c we don't have room for her. Your story gives me hope. Maybe the neighbors or someone will take her.
