Thus it begins

We received 19 catalogs in the mail today. And it's only October... oy.

(Oh yeah, and I seem to have come down with a cold... [sigh])

Too bad you don't have a wood stove. You could heat your apartment for free with the catalogs.

Great idea! Much more useful than the recycling bag.

As someone who hates catalogs, I call every company and ask to be removed from their mailing list. I've received only 3 catalogs, including 1 that I like and won't cancel, in the last month. It's worth the effort to save the trees.

I don't have time to make that many phone calls...

You can spread it out and just call a couple per week. The main savings is for the following year as the labels usually have been printed out 2 issues in advance.

Most of them don't have labels, actually.

Good point, they are pre-printed directly on the catalogs these days. Same theory though. Many of the catalog companies inform me that the next 1-2 issues are already pre-printed or have had the labels printed.

Forward them to me; I love catalogs year-round.

Seriously? If so, send me your address (vettecat @ LJ...), and we can talk about how to handle the postage. :-)
