Our word for today is... limbo

Almost 2 a.m. and still no resolution. (Which is good in a way b/c it means it could still go to Kerry, but - aiiigh!) And [livejournal.com profile] sdavido thinks we won't really know who won 'til the absentee ballots are counted, in another week or two... I didn't think it could be any messier than it was last time! If we have another election like this, they may have to look at revamping the system somehow. In the meantime... how did people stand it when news took days or weeks to travel across the country?

Simple patience. Modern Americans have been spoiled by a lifestyle of instant gratification. Folks aren't used to waiting for anything these days.

Very true. We encounter that at the store all the time, with people who expect to get whatever it is they're ordering instantly. Not to mention that we're used to being able to find whatever information we want, too.

I'm glad that they delayed my pain, I mean the news. I guess it can go wrong twice. I'm calling the next 4 years "days of mourning". ;(

I'm thinking of starting a thread suggesting that everyone wear black on Jan. 20... what do you think?

Go for it. I'm wearing black all week.
