Sing, sing a song...
Tonight we went to a karoake bar with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
aunt_becca & R. (and several of their other friends) to celebrate R.'s birthday. I'd never been to one before... it was an interesting experience. I was surprised by how many of the selected songs I didn't know. Everyone in our group did a good job covering their chosen songs, and sdavido impressed the crowd with the speed of his elocution on Devil Went Down to Georgia - he was actually ahead of the screen at a couple points. I didn't want to get up in front of the crowd, but amused myself by reassembling the 400-page song notebook, which had come apart and was being passed around in pieces. (Yes, I consider that fun. Yes, I know I'm strange.) There was also a young lady who did an amazing job singing At Last... someone with that good a voice really deserves a better venue, but she seemed to be enjoying herself. Could be an interesting place to go with a bunch of filkers...

You do me too much credit - I think I impressed everyone just by being able to properly pronounce "Granny does your dog bite? No child, no" in under 2 seconds . . . *grin* Just don't ask me to do it without a screen (at last, sight read training comes in handy!)
