Sugar saga

As I recently mentioned, I've been working on the cake for a friend's daughter's Bat Mitzvah party, which is this coming Sunday. The young lady loves to read and likes the color blue. This is what I came up with. (You really don't want to know how long this took... and for scale, the board it's on [borrowed from another congregant] is 18" square.)

Pretend this is time-lapsed...















I'm almost entirely pleased with it, I just don't like my writing. Oh well. (That had to be done in a rush because I was about to be locked out of the kitchen...) Hopefully it'll be well-received on Sunday!
