The article says "Law enforcement officials later confirmed that they have located the vehicle they were looking for, but did not offer any additional details." So the search for the car maybe over (but the search for the people may still be on).

Interesting. I heard an emergency broadcast alert about the search on 3 stations between 5 and 6 (I like to flip around).

Now it says they caught him...

In the case of TV news, it's probably a hassle to remove the announcement from the script (and find something to fill the time) once they go on air.
