Little cat feet

We know Scheherazade is smarter than she has any right to be, but sometimes she reminds us...

Since we've been travelling a lot lately, we bought an automatic feeder. We did have someone checking on her, scooping the litter, etc., but she usually gets fed three times a day, and that seemed unfair to ask. So I ordered a jazzy feeder that can be programmed to release food up to 8 times a day. (It looks kind of like a water cooler.)

She adapted to it very quickly, and we were relieved that we wouldn't have to worry about her being fed on time, and perhaps she wouldn't wake us up as early in the morning.

Except [livejournal.com profile] sdavido noticed tonight that she's figured out how to stick a paw up the chute and knock a few more kibbles loose. I don't think she's supposed to figure that out...

In other news, I'm mostly unpacked, caught up on bills and such, and I've pared my inbox down to under 100 messages. Whew! Still not done answering them, obviously, but there's hope...

When she learns how to reprogram it to feed her 8 in stead of three times a day, then I'll be even more impressed.

The control panel is tucked in behind stuff pretty securely, so that would be a neat trick!

Well, you can do it, why not her?

I actually have to unplug it to reprogram it b/c it's too hard to reach where it is.

Well, her paws are smaller than your hands, so maybe she can.

B&H have a similar contraption for Q a number of years back, and not long after they got it, Q figured out the same thing - sticking one's paw up inside the chute provides additional nourishment. Fun for the whole family! :-)

This one is supposed to be the newest and most foolproof... but of course nobody ever said cats are fools!

May I respectfully suggest that you don't let her watch you take off the top to refill the feeder?

I think that's an excellent idea...

No matter what you do the Kitty patrol will call and let her know what to do to get more food...they keep calling my Kitty too. :)
