Creative fun with math
Nov. 21st, 2013 02:20 pmA friend of ours who's a math teacher at a local day school has started a blog which features math lessons from each week's parsha (Torah portion). Check out
parshamath!

RIP jan howard finder a.k.a. Wombat, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was a good friend to both me and
sdavido for many years (and one of the few people who knew us independently before we met). jan (lowercase!) was my Fan Guest of Honor when I chaired Arisia in 2001 - he was my first choice and I was delighted when he accepted. His ever-present warmth, joy, and sense of adventure served as an inspiration to all who knew him, and we always looked forward to his annual summary of the year's exploits and explorations. He will be greatly missed.

Tasty new feed
Jan. 7th, 2013 02:23 pmFor those who like to read about cooking, check out
midweekmeal. It's a fun new kosher cooking blog written by a friend's brother (culinary school grad who works at a local restaurant) and his roommate, who apparently is similarly food-oriented.

There's hope!
Jul. 26th, 2012 10:52 pmWas happily surprised to find that I really like the new 101.7! First time I've spent the entire hourlong commute on one station since Mike 93.7 went off the air. Other "Mike orphans" may want to check it out.
