Love is a Fluffernutter
Sep. 10th, 2008 11:21 pmI usually take a Fluffernutter to work for lunch. (This will not surprise anyone who's known me more than a few hours.) They're easy to make, don't need to be refrigerated, and (at least on my part) don't require much thought. And I like them.
Most often I'll make my lunch the night before. A couple times over the past few weeks
sdavido has started putting lunch together for me when I was running late, or otherwise pressed for time.
Tonight I got home from work around 10 pm, and I need to get up early tomorrow to be downtown at 7:30 am. Came in thinking, "OK, have to make lunch..." and reached the kitchen to find that SD- had already made me a sandwich, and it was wrapped and waiting on the counter for me.
So, yes, love is a Fluffernutter. To me, at least.

Add to the previously-mentioned gifts from
sdavido: a multicolored watch set, a bottle of perfume... and a pan of homebaked seven-layer bars from Baking Illustrated. Yummmmm. I told him I think he's discovered
vettecat catnip...
In the meantime I got some unpacking done. Not as much as I'd hoped, but I can see a difference. It's progress at least.

This one's easy...
Feb. 7th, 2006 02:03 am"If there is someone on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal."
Well, considering that
sdavido and I met online... :-)

Shortly after midnight,
sdavido appeared behind me with a Valentine's Day present. It's a brooch with three sparkly heart-shaped stones in a horizontal row; the center, larger stone is clear, and the other two are lavender. Very pretty. He said that he'd been saving the stones for a while (he has a talent for picking things up in odd places) and asked Angela to make something with them. He gave it to me early because he knew I'd want to wear it tomorrow. (Yes, I'm definitely planning on lavender.) I like having a romantic husband...
Oh, and I gave him a Spider-Man tie. So far. :-)

The good, the bad, and the fuzzy
Jan. 28th, 2005 01:12 amGood
sdavido surprised me tonight with something he sneakily ordered before I even knew it was out. The first season of MacGyver. Wheeee! I was a bit annoyed that they list his first name on the case, since that was always a Deep Dark Secret (I only remember it being mentioned in two episodes), but nevertheless I'm looking forward to watching it again. Hmmm, maybe if we can tame the Clutter Demon, I'll have a MacGyver party sometime...
Bad
sdavido's cold has gotten much worse. He's been running a fever since yesterday (102.7 as of a few hours ago), and has a really deep nasty cough which gets worse if he tries to talk. He didn't go to work today, and he's not going tomorrow. But I called our doctor tonight, and he prescribed some antibiotics over the phone, so hopefully we'll see some improvement soon. (His reaction to my asking if we should come to the office: "Don't take him out in this cold weather! He'll get worse!" I like having a practical doctor.) Both my parents have colds of varying severity, too. Thank G-d I have a good immune system, so as long as I don't let myself get depleted, I should be OK.
Fuzzy
So, can cats catch a human virus? I always thought those couldn't cross the species boundary, but
sdavido has been trying not to breathe on her, just in case. Anyone know for sure?
