Happy 7th anniversary, [livejournal.com profile] sdavido!

(And we're still not tired of each other. Amazing...)

I've been fretting lately about not being able to back up my files b/c I've exceeded the capacity of my 1GB flash drive. Tonight [livejournal.com profile] sdavido gave me a present: a 4GB flash drive, red, shaped like a heart, on a long chain. More than enough space, and pretty to boot. Yay!

I usually take a Fluffernutter to work for lunch. (This will not surprise anyone who's known me more than a few hours.) They're easy to make, don't need to be refrigerated, and (at least on my part) don't require much thought. And I like them.

Most often I'll make my lunch the night before. A couple times over the past few weeks [livejournal.com profile] sdavido has started putting lunch together for me when I was running late, or otherwise pressed for time.

Tonight I got home from work around 10 pm, and I need to get up early tomorrow to be downtown at 7:30 am. Came in thinking, "OK, have to make lunch..." and reached the kitchen to find that SD- had already made me a sandwich, and it was wrapped and waiting on the counter for me.

So, yes, love is a Fluffernutter. To me, at least.

I'd never heard of it before... Where does he find these things?

Mmmmmm...

Add to the previously-mentioned gifts from [livejournal.com profile] sdavido: a multicolored watch set, a bottle of perfume... and a pan of homebaked seven-layer bars from Baking Illustrated. Yummmmm. I told him I think he's discovered [livejournal.com profile] vettecat catnip...

In the meantime I got some unpacking done. Not as much as I'd hoped, but I can see a difference. It's progress at least.

Ooooooo!

I've been needing a new (computer) mouse. [livejournal.com profile] sdavido said he thought he had a spare somewhere and he'd try to find it. Turns out he was being sneaky. Read more... )

Eeeeee!

[livejournal.com profile] sdavido just gave me a couple-days-early birthday present: a DVD recording of Torvill & Dean's "Bolero" performance at the '84 Olympics (complete with judges' marks). That's always been one of my favorites, and I have it on a VCR tape somewhere, but as he points out the tape is probably degrading. So now I have a copy that won't wear out. It's so nice that he knows what I like...

Awww...

Check my post about the "Love Quiz," and then take a look at [livejournal.com profile] sdavido's post...

"If there is someone on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal."

Well, considering that [livejournal.com profile] sdavido and I met online... :-)

Awwww...

Shortly after midnight, [livejournal.com profile] sdavido appeared behind me with a Valentine's Day present. It's a brooch with three sparkly heart-shaped stones in a horizontal row; the center, larger stone is clear, and the other two are lavender. Very pretty. He said that he'd been saving the stones for a while (he has a talent for picking things up in odd places) and asked Angela to make something with them. He gave it to me early because he knew I'd want to wear it tomorrow. (Yes, I'm definitely planning on lavender.) I like having a romantic husband...

Oh, and I gave him a Spider-Man tie. So far. :-)

Good
[livejournal.com profile] sdavido surprised me tonight with something he sneakily ordered before I even knew it was out. The first season of MacGyver. Wheeee! I was a bit annoyed that they list his first name on the case, since that was always a Deep Dark Secret (I only remember it being mentioned in two episodes), but nevertheless I'm looking forward to watching it again. Hmmm, maybe if we can tame the Clutter Demon, I'll have a MacGyver party sometime...

Bad
[livejournal.com profile] sdavido's cold has gotten much worse. He's been running a fever since yesterday (102.7 as of a few hours ago), and has a really deep nasty cough which gets worse if he tries to talk. He didn't go to work today, and he's not going tomorrow. But I called our doctor tonight, and he prescribed some antibiotics over the phone, so hopefully we'll see some improvement soon. (His reaction to my asking if we should come to the office: "Don't take him out in this cold weather! He'll get worse!" I like having a practical doctor.) Both my parents have colds of varying severity, too. Thank G-d I have a good immune system, so as long as I don't let myself get depleted, I should be OK.

Fuzzy
So, can cats catch a human virus? I always thought those couldn't cross the species boundary, but [livejournal.com profile] sdavido has been trying not to breathe on her, just in case. Anyone know for sure?
