In other news, I took SD- in to work this morning because I wanted to sit in on the guest speaker he had arranged for his political science class: Michael Dukakis. SD- hadn't been 100% sure whether he was coming, but I wanted to try going just in case. He agreed to let me come at the last minute on the condition that I stay in Deep Wallpaper mode - which was difficult at times when I wanted to ask MD to expand on something, or when he was asking questions I knew the answers to, but since he was there to talk to the kids I stayed quiet. I still very much enjoyed hearing him talk, though. He's so nice, and he cares so much about helping people and doing the right thing. It's reassuring to know there are still politicians like that... at least, we can hope there are. Couldn't help but ponder how different things would have been if he had won, though... (Massachusetts seems to produce candidates that are intelligent, conscientious, competent, and not at all telegenic. Dukakis, Tsongas, Kerry... apparently the rest of the country has different priorities. Oh well.)
