Slogging through the snow

sdavido in to work, since the weather was gross and he was a little stuffy. It is awful out there... anyone local who's reading this before going out, be very careful. We're expecting 4 - 8 inches, which ordinarily wouldn't be such a big deal, but it's coming on top of the slush that's already there so it's really messy and slippery. I saw a lot of people and cars slipping. Thank G-d I didn't slide. (I'm very careful, my car and I understand each other, and we got new snow tires last year.)
On the way back from dropping him off, I called my mother to tell her the conditions, and she checked the forecast and said nobody's going to come out in this so there's no point in opening the store, and I should go home. Which I did. Very carefully. Getting back into our space in the driveway (which is on a hill) was a bit of an adventure but thankfully I made it.
So... I have a snow day! Yay! At the moment, my cat is happily purring in my lap. Then I might actually catch up on some of the tons of things I'm behind on! I'm a little worried about howsdavido is going to get home later, but we'll deal with that then. Right now I'm going to make myself a cup of cocoa and let the idea of being home sink in a bit. :-)
