But Arnold has said he'll veto it. The California bill needed 41 votes to pass, and that's all it got. It may not have enough support to over turn the veto.

And in Massachusetts, State Attorney General Tom Reilly said yesterday that it's okay to put on the 2008 ballot an amendment to the state constituion banning future same sex marriages (to prevent legal challenges to the amendment, existing same sex marriages will not be invalidated).
