Some of you remember my posting about my aunt's friend's son having been murdered in Ohio a few months ago. Well, good news - they caught the people who did it! Yay! (I'm appending the articles below, because you have to have an account, so...)

3 CHARGED IN JUNE SLAYING
4TH PERSON FACES OTHER CHARGES IN INVASION OF WEST AKRON HOME, KILLING OF UA STUDENT
Andale Gross, Beacon Journal staff writer

Three Akron men have been charged in the killing of a 22-year-old man in a June home invasion.

Michael Mullen Jr., Jason Cordell Jones and Kevin Darnell Roddy face charges of aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and kidnapping.

They are accused of forcing their way into a house on Goodhue Drive in West Akron and robbing the young men who lived there. Jason Reaven was shot and killed.

Mullen, 27, and Jones, 22, are being held in the Summit County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bonds. Roddy, also 22, turned himself in to Akron police about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

A fourth suspect -- Meagan Brown, 25, of Twinsburg -- is not accused in the killing, but faces charges of complicity to commit both aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary.

Brown is being held in the county jail and is set to appear today in Akron Municipal Court. Detectives allege she was part of the robbery plot and drove the getaway car.

The home invasion occurred early on June 22. After breaking into the house at 66 Goodhue, burglars confronted two of the young men who lived there in the front room and restrained them with duct tape.

The intruders took money, bank and credit cards and cell phones, according to police records.

Reaven, who had been asleep, heard the commotion and walked into the front room. He was shot once in the jaw, detectives said.

Reaven's parents declined to comment on the charges Tuesday. In June, grieving family friends remembered Reaven as a good-hearted young man who loved music and life. He was a freshman at the University of Akron and performed music locally as a guitarist.

Reaven was a native of San Diego, but had lived in Akron for 19 years, graduating from Revere High in 2002.

Reaven had lived at the house on Goodhue for more than a year. It had belonged to his grandparents.

Goodness, I thought I'd already answered this one, but it's sitting in a tab in Firefox. Oops!

I'm really glad these guys were caught, hope they're the right ones and are therefore convicted.
