I'll admit, I had never really thought about this. But I just scrubbed down my pocketbook. (Fortunately it's leather so I can do that.) Something to think about...
Regarding the comment about grabbing door handles; I've been in one bathroom that had little paper towels in a dispenser right next to the door just for this purpose. Unfortunately, there wasn't a convenient trash can on the outside next to the door. :-(
