The Rules:
1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!
The five that
gnomi picked are:

This is from Girl Genius, a fabulous online comic strip about a world ruled by Mad Science. This particular icon comes from an important scene that may not make much sense without context. Then again, it might. :-)

Also from Girl Genius. This comes from a short standalone story introducing readers to the GG universe.

The Earth at night. (You probably knew that.) Sent to me by
foolcat as part of a conversation about something random, and I just thought it was cool.

My favorite painting by Wojtek Siudmak, an amazingly talented man who was my Artist Guest of Honor when I chaired Arisia in 2001. I love this one. We have a print of it hanging in our living room. It's also my current computer wallpaper.

I got this one from Avatarity; I found a bunch there when I first started scavenging for icons. I thought it had a fairy-tale look, reminiscent of Tolkien.
That's it for now... hope you've enjoyed your trip down Icon Lane!
