$82.00 to fill my tank for a week at costco ($4.39/gallon, and that's the cheap stuff)

Yeowch! I'd heard it's even higher in CA than it is here... though I have seen $4.39 listed locally, the lowest I've found lately is $3.99.

You've discovered the cheap gas stations on Rt. 60 heading toward I-93, right? (We've used them for years with no problems.)

Best prices I've found so far are at Pearl Street... is that what you were thinking of?

No - if you head east on Rt 60 from the Fellsway, there are a bunch of stations selling gas for $3.97. The one I usually use is also an inspection station.

Um, which way is east?... When you come up from the Fellsway fork, do you go left or right? (Pearl St. is at $3.99, though.)

if you're heading south on Rt 28 from the Fellsway fork, you turn right (which is actually west, I misspoke) so that the big Foodmaster et al is on your left when you're on Rt 60. Left takes you back into Malden; right takes you to Medford Square by way of the I-93 rotary, and the stations are in the stretch between the Foodmaster and the rotary.

Oh, OK. Makes sense... I don't go that way very often. Thanks!

I fill up at half-full -- formerly, so that I never had less than half a tank, cuz you never know when the Blizzard of 78 might repeat itself (I also buy milk whenever clouds appear in the sky ;->), but now so that I never have to watch the readout hit five digits...

Yeah, I usually fill at half but lately I've been going down to a quarter more often, trying to stretch it out. Probably doesn't really help. (But - five digits? Yeowch!)

That's five including the cents. It's a (old) minivan: 26 gallon tank. Which in this damn thing gives me a range of 260 miles city.

I figured that included the cents, otherwise it would be cheaper to hire a limo...
