Time to make the doughnuts

As many of you probably know, Chanukah starts tomorrow night. (Or is it tonight, at this point?) sdavido and I invited my parents and a friend over for dinner tomorrow night; I try to make latkes at least once during Chanukah. So tonight has been spent cleaning/straightening/generally making the place more presentable... we've gotten kind of behind on that. I also made doughnuts for dessert. This is a first attempt for me, so I'm hoping they came out OK; the ones without holes seem a little soft in the center, but I imagine the filling should help with that. We'll find out soon. In the meantime, it's gotten late all of a sudden, so I should really go to bed... I'll answer mail et al tomorrow night. Thanks very much for your support! I don't think they were ideal, but the novelty was a hit in itself. I'm sure they would improve with practice (or if I weren't trying to ice & fill them while in a hurry).
