Realized I haven't taken any pictures of the kittens in a few days... and since sdavido got me an 8GB (!) memory card for the camera (to replace the 32MB one it came with), I can play around with it a little more.

Fortunately they were being cooperatively photogenic tonight. :-)

Napping on the couch together... they really are getting along beautifully.


Tandem meatloafing...


Caught a bathing moment! They're just starting to bathe each other... most often it's Leela bathing Minerva, but this time Minerva was the one who initiated it. Usually only lasts a few licks before the one being bathed wriggles away, but it's still great progress and very sweet.

And now, for a bit of perspective. Remember when we first introduced them?

Leela is now 7 months, Minerva is now 6 months. Leela's growth seems to be leveling off but Minerva still seems to be growing. No idea whether they'll ultimately be the same size or whether one of them will be larger than the other... it'll be interesting to watch them continue to develop. But they are both turning from beautiful kittens into gorgeous cats.

They still each seem happy to stay with their respective person, too. Generally speaking when I sit down Minerva appears in my lap, and the same happens with SD- and Leela. There's usually a fair amount of purring involved. :-) They are so cute...

They are beautiful and are growing more beautiful as they get older.

Cats will continue to grow until they are 18 months old so they both have a bit more growing to do.

Thanks very much! They are doing wonderfully. I thought the growth levelled out at 12 months, but it's been a while (15 years) since I had a kitten so I didn't really remember. It should be slowing down, though, right?

They will continue to fill out a bit until 18 months, but it will slow considerably after about a year. They should gain about a pound a month up to one year and then just start filling out and looking less like kittens and more like cats over the next six months.

They are totally adorable (you would love watching them play together!) and growing very fast - which is just what they should be doing, thankfully. But your kids will keep growing for longer. :-)
