vettecat | Random nice story

I'm getting tired earlier these days (still not quite over the cold I guess) so I'll try to keep this short...

Sometime in '03 (I think - could have been '02), a gentleman in his 60s came into the store to order some stationery. He seemed uncertain about what he wanted so I asked if he could tell me about what he'd used until now. Turned out his wife had always done this and she'd passed away a few months prior, so he was feeling a bit lost (understandably). I helped him pick something out, and he was very pleased with it. He came in for something else a few months later, and seemed to be adjusting well.

A few months ago, he came in again, looking very happy, and told us that he was engaged. This was shortly followed by his returning with his fiancee (a lovely woman of similar age) for invitations and such. We helped them with the various components leading up to the wedding, and they seemed very happy together.

The other day, they brought in a photo of themselves at the wedding to use on thank-you notes, so I was printing those up today. It's a beautiful picture - you can see the joy on their faces. I was just musing about how nice it is to see them so happy together, especially considering how sad he was when I first met him.

This business can be really nice sometimes...
