Went and saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tonight; I'll try and keep this general for those of you who haven't seen it yet. :-) (I imagine comments may get into detail, though.) I actually liked it much more than I expected to. I never cared for the first movie adaptation, as I felt it departed too much from the book. And I wasn't sure I cared for Willy Wonka as presented in the new previews - too pretty. But they actually did a really good job of keeping to the book (aside from inventing some extra background), and the effects were beautifully done. My main disappointment was that they didn't include the Square Candies That Look Round. Ah well, I suppose there's always something left out in the transference from paper to screen...

I'm still waiting for them to produce "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator". By now they have the technology to do the Vermicious Knids and the rest of the book.
