This, that, and the other thing

What I've been up to, and what I'll be doing, +/- a few days from now...
Friday morning
sdavido was in a bit of a panic, as he couldn't find something important, and was running late. I offered to give him a ride in to work, which would mean we could stop by School A and look for the aforementioned lost thing, then proceed to School B where he was teaching that morning. Thankfully the lost thing was where he had left it, and he made it to class on time. The only negative to this was that he got up not long after I went to sleep... so I was rather tired by this point. But it was worth it. And he was very grateful. :-)
Friday night we went to my mother's for dinner; she had invited several of her neighbors, and wanted us to meet them. Nice people. She's made a lot of new friends in her building, thankfully. For the rest of Shabbos, we stayed home and relaxed.
Tonight we went to the End-of-Summer party, and saw some cool fire-spinning, and a good chunk of Boston fandom. (I won't attempt to list all the LJ people...) We also brought our friend S. (with permission), who I thought would fit in well. Turns out I was more right than I knew - she knew a lot of those in attendance from other venues.
Coming up, I'll be away Mon. - Wed., as my mother and I have been invited to a dealers' summit at William Arthur in Maine. This is rather cool as they only invite selected dealers from around the country. We're looking forward to seeing the factory. On the other hand, I don't like being away from
sdavido... hopefully he won't be too lonely. (I imagine he'll be too busy with beginning-of-semester stuff to talk anyway, though.)
I'm debating whether to bring my computer to Maine. The hotel does have a business center but it closes at 9 p.m. They say there's in-room connectivity if you bring a computer, and since I'm working off a laptop now I could theoretically do that. But I'm a little nervous about taking it in case something happens. I may take it, though, because there's a lot of Arisia stuff that needs to be done this week, and I don't want to fall too far behind. Not sure how much time I'll have to go online but at least I'd have the option. If you don't hear from me for a few days, though, you'll know why...
