Developed the film from my mom's party, trying out the new add-a-photo feature...

The sugarpaste tulips, before they were placed on the cake. Scary how much time this represents!

The finished centerpiece cake. You can't see all the detail - white-on-white doesn't photograph well - but hopefully it gives the idea.

The dessert buffet, all set up. The desserts are:
Near cookie tower, top to bottom: sugar cookies, black gold (a.k.a. double chocolate) cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies
Raspberry cake (white cake with raspberry jam inside)
First platter: brown sugar bars and peanut butter bars
Second platter: triple-chocolate brownies and apricot squares
Centerpiece cake (chocolate inside)
Third platter: lemon squares and toffee squares
Rainbow cake with tulips
Far cookie tower, top to bottom: nurnberger (honey almond cookies), pfefferneuse (spice cookies), chocolate chip cookies

Sorry I can't send over samples to taste this way, but at least you can finally see what I was working on all that time!

Thanks very much! Nurnberger were from the Betty Crocker Cookie Book, black gold cookies are from Death by Chocolate Cookies (Marcel Desaulniers). Do you have either of those?

Ah, another Marcel fan! :-) The Betty Crocker book has tons of good recipes - I tend to like old cookbooks, from before people started obsessing about calories, etc. It was out of print for a long time (I considered "borrowing" my mother's...) but fortunately it was recently re-issued. Yay!

Once she got past not wanting anyone to fuss over her, she was very happy. :-)
