Apparently, a number of people have been discovering that their funky Chinese tattoos don't mean what they thought they did...

This reminds me of a slightly different topic.

There was a guy at school wearing a shirt that mentioned in english a bar mitzvah (I think in boston) with the boys name and date. Then there was a line under this in unfamiliar characters.

Me "So what language is that?"

Him "Hebrew I assume."

Me "That's not hebrew!"

He came back the next week and said a friend told him it might be Korean, but he had gotten the shirt at a sale and had always assumed it was hebrew :). I am ignorant enough to have been wondering if it was in Klingon :).

That's weird on so many levels... why would he want to wear a shirt from a stranger's bar mitzvah? And assuming the parents paid for the shirts, why would they use a language nobody could read? Very odd.
