Straight outta New Bedford
Sep. 20th, 2007 01:07 amJust got back from a Weird Al Yankovic concert. This was relatively spontaneous; a friend called us a couple days ago to say they had extra tickets, and did we want to go? We hesitated briefly because we're trying to budget carefully right now, but who knows when the next chance would be, and we haven't really done anything fun in ages... so we went. It was a lot of fun; he is (as many of you know) a great performer, and though it was mostly newer stuff there were some oldies mixed in too. (I just found a set list here which seems accurate.) But now I'm too tired to read posts, again... will have to try and catch up later.
Too close for comfort

This, on the other hand, is just randomly cool. ( Read more... )

This is a new one so take heed!!!
Watch out for this scam. There is a slick routine aimed at stealing from unwary persons. They say that the gang usually comprises three or four members. While the three younger ones, all appearing to be cute and innocent, divert their "mark" (or intended target) with a show of friendliness and fun, the fourth - the eldest of this gang of criminals - sneaks in from behind the person's back to expertly rifle undetected through pockets and bags for any valuables being carried.
The attached picture taken from CTV operating in the inner city shows the Gang in operation.

Supermarket adventures
Aug. 23rd, 2007 01:23 amThis will be of particular interest to those with children, but is generally amusing and well-written. (Scroll down past the picture, if that's not immediately obvious.) Thanks to
thnidu for the link!
(I was going to create a feed for the author's blog, but apparently someone beat me to it by a few hours - it's at
6packblog.)

Luke... I am your... ride?
May. 22nd, 2007 02:30 amThis is really impressive!
(BTW does anyone know how to post videos these days? The way I knew doesn't seem to work anymore... nor does dropping the YouTube link into the "embed media" window.)

The link I put up the other day was taken down, but now someone's put it up elsewhere so I can share it with y'all... really, worth watching!
Under the sea...
Apr. 17th, 2007 02:04 amSomeone sent me mail about an underwater restaurant, and I had to check it out... turns out to be real. Wow. Talk about ambience...
Aw, you say the [adjective] things...
Apr. 8th, 2007 01:58 amAccording to the Surrealist Compliment Generator, "Ever do you remind me of a staircase falling exotically into a sea of spilled macaroni." (Not to mention, "You ever remind me of the enigma of postage not sent.")
